Developers from the Moscow studio Game Art Pioneers together with a group of companiesRTA» announced distortion is the studio’s debut story-driven role-playing game with real-time strategy elements.
They plan to create a project that combines elements of fantasy and sci-fi while being dramatic at the same time.
“The game is set in a unique middlepunk setting, and the story is about mutual support and unity in the face of an overwhelming threat. The original and detailed game world of DISTORTION organically continues the philosophy and style of cyberpunk in synthesis with medieval fantasy, offering the player a look at the dark and brutal history of the apocalypse.
Or, as Game Art Pioneers lead game designer points out Dmitry Zdesevgamers are waiting for “an epic of self-determination in the face of global upheaval, where the fates of several main characters are revealed in the context of bright events that will not wait for the player.”
So far, the game does not have a trailer, but the developers have presented several artworks showing characters, landscapes, and monsters. Distortion is scheduled to release in 2025 on PC and consoles.
