Samsung’s foray into developing first-party applications for its smartphones has yielded a wide variety of apps that are aimed at providing useful features for its Galaxy users. Most recently, the company has introduced “Samsung Wallet,” which the company describes as “easy-to-use” and “secure.”

The new feature will let Samsung Galaxy users organize their digital keys, boarding passes, and more, through a single application, which is similar to Apple Pay and Google Pay. The application also integrates Samsung Knox security and will work with Samsung Blockchain Wallet for convenient monitoring of cryptocurrencies. Additionally, it will be able to work with SmartThings for smart home usage.

In addition to payment cards, Samsung Wallet will also incorporate loyalty and membership cards, as well as Samsung Pass’ feature which stores passwords for quick log-in. A later update will add support for other IDs like driver’s licenses and student IDs.

The app is currently available in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US, and users who wish to update to the app can simply open their Samsung Pay or Samsung Pass App to initiate the update process.

This isn’t the first time that Samsung has launched a wallet app for its phones, however. Back in 2013, the company also launched a similarly-named app for exclusive use with Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Unfortunately, it wasn’t compatible with NFC payments at the time.
