Today Gearbox announced that it’s next Tales From The Borderlands game, which continues where the last title left off, will arrive this year. In fact, the next Tales From The Borderlands game will launch this October. It’ll arrive just in time for the holidays making it a great gift for any gamer. Assuming they don’t buy it themselves because they just can’t wait to play it.

For the unfamiliar, this isn’t like your typical Borderlands game. In fact it’s not the only game that strays a little from the original formula. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands breaks away from that same old same old by mixing in some tabletop game themes. Although gameplay is mostly the same – it’s still a looter shooter in first-person view for the majority of the game, it still has multiple classes, and it’s still rife with comedy.

With the Tales version, everything is more of a story-based adventure game. So no looting, no actual shooting. In their place, you get more in-depth story content with a multitude of player choices like a choose your own adventure offering. But, in a Borderlands setting.

The next Tales From The Borderlands is landing on October 21

The game is still officially a couple months out following its announcement earlier this year. But Gearbox has confirmed that it will arrive on October 21 on multiple platforms. Including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It’s still unclear how much the game will actually cost, but if it the price is anywhere close to the original, players can probably expect it to be around $30. Especially considering this is more of a narrative-based title.

Interestingly enough, the original Tales From The Borderlands game was eventually released on mobile devices. As were many of the Tales series games from Telltale. That being said, there’s no mention of a mobile release for this next game. And that might be because Gearbox is handling everything in-house this time around.

Either way, if you’re looking forward to this release, you can officially play it at the end of October.
