Now that the interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency courses is skyrocketing, one of the largest American higher education institutions, Texas A&M college with 74 thousand students, is also offering a new Bitcoin course. The news was announced by Korok Ray, associate professor of the institution, who will teach a “Bitcoin protocol” course to students studying in the institution’s engineering faculty and business school starting from the semester starting in January.

After Ray completes Bitcoin programming and Bitcoin protocol courses, students learn how to “build a Bitcoin library from scratch.” The instructor added that it was not an easy task to get approval from the school’s relevant curriculum committee.

According to crypto researcher Josh Cowell, the lack of high-quality crypto education is a key barrier to taking the adoption of blockchain technologies to the next level. He claims that if education is done right, it can improve an individual’s financial literacy.

The legal and regulatory aspects of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are now being taught in American colleges. Thomas Hook, an assistant professor at the University of Boston’s law school, recently said a To Cointelegraphthat the institution now offers a crypto-regulation course to students interested in how crypto-savvy attorneys and crypto-companies can best navigate the regulatory uncertainties as they seek to bring their products and services to market.

“The purpose of the course is to familiarize prospective lawyers with the potential issues they may encounter, as well as the myriad approaches and regulations related to crypto, and the various issues that crypto companies may face around the world,” Hook said.
